The film is the latest portrait in a series of works directed by Matthias Wilfert, who has been focused on the life of the people staying in this rural region in lower Bavaria in several films during the last years. A region, which many people leave for another life in the cities. The documentary \u00bbScala Adieu\u00ab investigates the development of German (and maybe: European) city-centers,\u00a0 focussing on Konstanz, a university-town at the lake Bodensee, where the established arthouse-cinema \u00bbScala Filmpalast\u00ab had to close doors in 2017 in favour of another franchise-drugstore.
