Two premieres at Hofer Filmtage filmfestival 2018

The documentary films »Raus« (directed by: Matthias Wilfert) and »Scala Adieu« (directed by: Douglas Wolfsperger) will premiere at this year’s Hofer Filmtage filmfestival (October 23rd -28th). »Raus« portrays the young woman Jenny (22), who tries to find a life in her home region in rural Bavaria. The film is the latest portrait in a series of works directed by Matthias Wilfert, who has been focused on the life of the people staying in this rural region in lower Bavaria in several films during the last years. A region, which many people leave for another life in the cities. The documentary »Scala Adieu« investigates the development of German (and maybe: European) city-centers,  focussing on Konstanz, a university-town at the lake Bodensee, where the established arthouse-cinema »Scala Filmpalast« had to close doors in 2017 in favour of another franchise-drugstore. Douglas Wolfsperger, who grew up as a filmmaker in Konstanz with this cinema, solidarises with the citizen’s group against the closing of the Scala Filmpalast cinema and confronts mayor and cultural management with what he understands and discloses as failed city-development.
