A Ukrainian female soldier and five male soldiers recount the horrors they witnessed and endured on the front line, and their difficult struggle to return to a normal life. The result is a poignant portrait of a generation forced to live with the psychological consequences of a war imposed upon them, and of a society that will continue to bear this burden for a long time to come.

»Seven Circles of Hell is highly relevant. Artistically radical, the film confronts us with the cruelties of war. By showing us six portraits and psychograms the film tells us in a sensitive way about the abysses of a society, which is torn by the brutal futility of the circles of hell of violence, senselessness and trauma.” Excerpt from the laudatory speech of the jury of the Hessian Film Award 2026
